Road sealed off after lorry crashes into electricity pylon in Chesterfield

A man has been taken to hospital after being ‘seriously injured’ in a crash between a lorry and an electricity pylon in Chesterfield.

Police were called just before 11.50am this morning (Friday, February 26) to the collision, which happened on Staveley Lane between Nether Handley and Barrow Hill.

Police, fire and ambulance crews attended the incident and a man has been taken to hospital suffering serious injuries.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said that the road is currently closed between Nether Handley and the junction with Station Road.
